History
M.A.A.P. was organized on August 1, 1983 by activity professionals throughout the State of Michigan. The organization promotes educational opportunities, personal development and the continuing excellence of activity programs in long-term care facilities, residential housing, adult day care and senior centers.
Goals
- To promote activity therapy as a profession and to provide appropriate educational opportunities.
- To provide a forum of communication between activity professionals through the state of Michigan.
- To improve and advance professionalism in the field of activities.
- To promote knowledge, principles and techniques designed to continually upgrade activity programming.
- To communicate with government agencies on policies relating to the field of activities and to provide input into formulating any changes.
