M.A.A.P. promotes and provides appropriate educational opportunities specifically geared to the activities professional which address the needs of the people it serves.
Members must meet standards as indicated in the by-laws, Article 3, Section 1. In addition, members are expected to maintain the following Code of Ethics:
- Continued learning and self-improvement
- Adhere to Michigan resident Bill of Rights
- Be a resident advocate
- Initiate and promote the activities profession both within the workplace as well as to the general public
Grounds for disassociation from M.A.A.P. :
- Misrepresentation of M.A.A.P.
- Misrepresentation of personal credentials
- Misuse of funds
- Violation of residents rights
Failure to comply with the Code of Ethics will result in membership withdrawal and additional disciplinary action as deemed necessary by the executive council, if needed.
