Code of Ethics

M.A.A.P. promotes and provides appropriate educational opportunities specifically geared to the activities professional which address the needs of the people it serves.

Members must meet standards as indicated in the by-laws, Article 3, Section 1. In addition, members are expected to maintain the following Code of Ethics:

  • Continued learning and self-improvement
  • Adhere to Michigan resident Bill of Rights
  • Be a resident advocate
  • Initiate and promote the activities profession both within the workplace as well as to the general public

Grounds for disassociation from M.A.A.P. :

  • Misrepresentation of M.A.A.P.
  • Misrepresentation of personal credentials
  • Misuse of funds
  • Violation of residents rights

Failure to comply with the Code of Ethics will result in membership withdrawal and additional disciplinary action as deemed necessary by the executive council, if needed.
